MANY THANKS TO ALL THOSE WHO GAVE THEIR TIME, THEIR EFFORT, THEIR ITEMS AND THEIR MONEY TO MAKE THIS POSSIBLE.
The Stratford Friends of the Shakespeare Hospice are a group who meet on the first Monday of the month at the hospice. We meet as friends who have fun and raise money for our local hospice. 2008 was a terrific fundraising year for us and we were able to hand over £22,892 for the hospice, raised from a variety of activities. We try to have a good mix of activities to keep everyone happy.

2009 is proving to be another busy year, and being the 10th Anniversary of the Hospice we are hoping to raise a record amount of money for them. The Quiz night on February 27th made £879,the coffee morning at the Town Hall on March 6th made £979, we provided teas at the Hospice fete on July 11th and are busy planning the ever popular auction on October 3rd,some of the interesting items will soon be appearing on the auction page. We have also had a collection at Stratford Garden Centre raising £369, and a street collection raising £983. We still have collections at the Racecourse and Morrisons and Tescos when we call upon other volunteers to help. Another of our activities is to help with the Tea Dance at Tiddington. This is advertised as a “Tea Dance with Musical Memories” to singalong, dance or just relax. Once a month a few Friends go along and help to set up, take the entrance and raffle money and then serve tea and biscuits. The real enjoyment comes in watching the dancers, maybe even joining in with them and of course the music which always makes us feel good, so far this year this has raised £808.
